This two hour in-person workshop will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd, from 6:15-8:15pm in our sewing area at Community. It is available to ages 18+ with a maximum class size of 6 students.
Are You afraid to change your serger thread? Does converting to a rolled edge feel
complicated? Is adjusting your serger tension confusing? Using a serger can be really intimidating to someone who is new to using one. In this workshop we will help you learn to use your machine to its full potential.
Please bring your own serger, and the instruction manual if possible, four cones of serger thread, and a selection of knit and woven fabrics to experiment with.
The instructor, Emily Greene, is a life long sewist with an MFA in set and costume design for theatre. She has worked on Broadway productions, and was a freelance set and costume designer in the Bay Area before spending five years at Laika Studios in Portland, Oregon. She is passionate about garment, and costume construction, thrifted re design, and natural dyeing, especially working with indigo.Supplies are not included in the price of the course. **You are responsible for bringing your own serger and supplies.** You will receive a supply list at least from the instructor at least five days before the course begins.
Cancellations may be made up to 3 days before the class for a 50% refund. Cancellations made within 2 days of the class are non-refundable. -
