Her work revolves around mapmaking, outdoorscapes, place portraits, local and regional illustrations, and long-distance foot travel. Her experiences on long trails inform her art, especially in creative contributions to the southeast and, generally, to communities that have not been thoroughly represented or funded in the outdoors.
Stylistically, her techniques are influenced by her academic background in renaissance English literature: she loves working in line drawing and densely stylized maps, characteristic, respectively, of early modern woodcuts and seventeenth-century cartography. She specializes in illustration, print and poster design, playful cartography, and infographics.
