Beginner's Knitting Course (Beginners I): Sept. 14th - Sept. 28th, 2026
This is a 3-week introductory knitting course that will be held in our sewing area at Community on Monday evenings with a maximum class size of 10 students.
Jump into your first knitting project with the beginners stitch sampler scarf. This project is the perfect starting point for a new knitter. You will get the chance to try out garter stitch, stockinette, seed stitch, and more. Students will complete the scarf during the duration of the class, with some outside work recommended to finish on time.
The classes will meet on the following Evenings:
Monday - Sept. 14th, 6:15pm - 8:15pm
Monday - Sept. 21st, 6:15pm - 8:15pm
Monday - Sept. 28th, 6:15pm - 8:15pm
The instructor, Evelyn Russell, is a redesigner and seamstress at Community. She is studying Fashion Merchandising and Fabric Design at the University of Georgia and is pursuing a career in sustainable textiles and fashion. She sells her own clothing line, EUDOXA, at Community.
Supplies are not included in the price of the course. **You are responsible for bringing your own supplies.** You will receive a supply list from the instructor at least five days before the course begins.
For cancellations, you will receive a 75% refund until seven days before the beginning of the course. Cancellation seven days or less before the course results in a refund of 25% of the workshop cost. No refunds will be issued on the day the course begins or after the course has begun.
