Sewing Pants (Beginners II): February 5-26, 2025
This is a 4 week sewing course that will be held in our sewing area at Community on Wednesday evenings with a maximum class size of 6 students.
While this is a beginners level class, students are required to have a basic understanding of how to use their sewing machine and be able to sew a straight line. The teacher will guide them through the process of making a pair of pants (with pockets!) using one of Community's pattern (wide leg pants with elastic waist). If you don't yet know how to use your machine, please sign up for our Beginners Sewing Course.
Supplies are not included in the price of the course. **You are responsible for bringing your own sewing machine and supplies.** You will receive a supply list at least from the instructor at least five days before the course begins.
The instructor, Lauren DeBeers, has worked at Community as a redesigner and alterations seamstress. She is currently attending the University of Georgia, where she is getting her master's degree in public relations. Lauren has enjoyed sewing and teaching sewing classes since she was in high school.
